Jacob’s Village is pleased to announce the expansion of our neighborhood with the opening of a newly constructed Community Center. Evansville Mayor Lloyd Winnecke and other dignitaries will help cut the ribbon on the 4,900 square foot center which boasts new staff offices, a large conference room and plenty of programming space. The activity room is set-up to host activities for our residents as well as members of the local community. New programming includes a weekly exercise class in partnership with the USI Kinesiology Dept., STELLAR cooking classes, musical acts and inter-denominational worship services. Public rental of the space is available at reasonable rates by calling Program Manager Sherri Haas at 812.963.5198 x 101.
The centerpiece of our neighborhood is now a reality thanks to our generous donors including 911 Gives Hope, Old National Bank, G.D. Ritzy’s and many others. We look forward to celebrating with the public on Thursday.
Established in 2004, the mission of Jacob’s Village is to develop a safe, walkable, neighborhood community where people with disabilities and older adults can find meaningful relationships, housing that is affordable and accessible, and activities that encourage active minds and bodies.
