Jacob’s Village Hosts Dedication of New Apartments
JACOB’S VILLAGE HOSTS DEDICATION OF NEW APARTMENTS
EVANSVILLE, Ind. – A public dedication ceremony is planned for new apartments which are the most recent addition to Jacob’s Village neighborhood community. Thanks to awards from the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis, and with support from The Vectren Foundation, Jacob’s Village was able to expand its neighborhood to offer new affordable housing options that will be available to lower income seniors as well as people with functional disabilities.
“We are so pleased to have our supporters play a role in our upcoming dedication ceremony, for without them this apartment project would not have been possible” said Cheryl Kuchna, President/CEO of Jacob’s Village.
The apartments are designed for accessibility, comfort and low maintenance, thus enabling residents to age in place even if they have mobility challenges. Funding from The Vectren Foundation ensured the apartments were designed for maximum energy efficiency and is making energy conservation education possible for incoming residents. The dedication of the 12 handicap-accessible apartments will take place this Friday, June 28th at 3:00 p.m. at Jacob’s Village, 7400 Vienna Road, 47720.
Established in 2004, the mission of Jacob’s Village is to develop a safe, walkable, neighborhood community where people with disabilities and older adults can find meaningful relationships, housing that is affordable and accessible, and activities that encourage active minds and bodies.
